Secondary School

This was the most difficult day for me. The education practices,
the suicides by young students, the corruption of teachers who rape
young children, the physical abuse, expectations of the female students.
I left in tears, sad by what takes place and in awe of the volunteer teachers
we met there. My heart goes out to them, I would not have the
strength to do and see what they do on a regular basis.
Their classroom schedule.

We had the privilege of meeting some
young teachers volunteering and staying
in Tanzania for 3 - 6 months. One actually
returned for the second time. The above photo
is of their washroom in the house they stay in.
This is their shower, they are allowed 3 buckets of water
to wash in and clean with for 1 week.
This is their kitchen, a little campfire, bench,  and a couple pots.
Their bedroom, which had a bed and net.
Their living room with two chairs. I don't know how they do it.

The interaction with the students was harder compared to the
elementary schools even with their English being much stronger.
However, after the ice was broken they quickly learnt
from each-other.

This is how they lined up to sing their national anthem.
It seemed sad, almost difficult for them to sing with pride?

This was me explaining where we live, our country.
