No photo - just words.

It took me some time to sit down and look at my photos again, hence the delay on our blog. It brings back emotions from every direction. Since my return a day has not gone by that I have not thought of my friends in Tanzania. I continue to wonder about how to help, what we can do here, how I can help bring them clean water - which I think is a human right. I continue to struggle with the luxuries we have, that I give my girls, or myself. Ballet class, trips to the Dells, going to the beach to play in the sand, pedicures, massages, vacations...the list goes on and on! I still do it, which in-turn brings up another heaping amount of emotions.

My first day back I was excited to spend some time with Marc and the girls even if my body was telling me I needed to sleep. I prepared the girls bath and Ana said "lots of bubbles and water mommy". My eyes filled with tears - how lucky is she....the little girls I met, hugged and wanted to help would never have a bath like that and would never see clean water they could drink come pouring out of a tap. Marc ordered my favourite pizza and sushi - which I loved but I thought back to the kids at the school who don't eat or if they do it's rice on a good day.

Marc and I have had several discussions since my return, how to find a balance - like he said we aren't going to stop bathing, that isn't going to help anyone! ;-)

I am going to continue to help support CPAR - my hope is RETSD and my school KEC will be supportive with continuing this tradition of funding the material for another community to build rain-water harvesting tanks. I am going to teach my girls, family and friends what I have learnt and encourage them to support this cause - a cause I saw first hand help not just 1 family but a community.

A huge thank you to all our friends and family who supported Tanzania 2013 - you truly have changed the life of a community!

An experience of a lifetime that will continue to pull on so many emotions for the rest of my life - I am thankful for that!

Hope you enjoy my journey. I suggest you click on the first one so the photos are enlarged and view  by clicking on the forward arrow. You can later go back to read the captions I wrote under some of the photos. In my opinion a photo is worth a 1000 words.
